The Comets prepare to take on Colerain in regional semifinals

The Mason Comets will face the Colerain Cardinals on Friday, a sweet sixteen state playoff matchup that could serve as an opportunity for the Comets to make history.

After defeating West Clermont in the first round, the Comets have shown their ability to make big plays, and above all else, defend. The Comet defense has posted four consecutive shutouts, and six shutouts on the season.

Among the Comet’s defensive leaders is senior linebacker Jake Bracher, who leads the team with 70 total tackles this season.

Over the last 9 years, Colerain has never lost a game in the Greater Miami Conference (GMC).

There’s a great deal on the line for the Comets, a chance to knock off Colerain, advance to week three in the playoffs and a regional final berth.

Senior offensive lineman Eric Miller is excited for the opportunity to face off against Colerain for a second time.
