Track and Field finds success at Centerville

The Mason Boys Track Team had a great night at the Centerville Elk relays.  The team was in great form and came together for a true whole team effort.  The  4x 200 won their race with the second fastest time in the state, as did the men of the 4x 400.   Both of these relays included Akari Porter, who is running at another level. The high jumpers did well, placing third with Keegan Mullins leading the way.  The hurdle crew is coming along nicely with Nick French running personal bests each week, looking to challenge for a state berth.  After a few slip-ups by the dominant Wayne team, the Comets were somehow able to pull out a narrow team victory at the end of the night.  On top of the Centerville victory, the Mason B team secured the win at the Waynesville meet. Next week they travel to Louisville for the prestigious Eastern relays.

The Girls Track Team finished as runner-up at the Centerville Elks Relays Friday night, scoring 97.48 team points.   The Comets teamed up throughout the meet to compile many top places and great performances. The team will head to Louisville to compete next Friday and Saturday.
