Comets Defeat Colerain in First Game of Decade

On Friday, January 3rd, the Mason boys basketball team played their first game of the decade at home versus the one-win Colerain Cardinals. Early on, the Cardinals put on a surprising performance, being down by seven after the first quarter with a score of 20-13. After that, the Comets’ defense prevailed by shutting the Cardinals to just three points in the second quarter. In the second half, Mason coasted to a thirty-five point 76-41 victory led by a 19-point outing by Mitchell Greer. The Comets hope to win a second game in a row for the first time this season when Middletown visits Tuesday, January 7th.
