Comets rebound with 64-39 win over Middletown
Less than 12 hours after a four overtime classic with Sycamore, the Mason Comets girls basketball team drilled the Middletown Middies 64-39 to improve their overall record to 12-8 and 10-4 in the Greater Miami Conference. Senior guard Alanna Carter led the way for the Comets with 18 points, while freshman Gabby Razzano added 14 points along with junior forward Marilyn Popplewell who chipped in 13 points. Mason looked a little sluggish in the first half, falling behind the Middies 25-22 at the half but the Comets opened the third quarter with a 23-3 run to cruise the win. The Comets will face the winner of Ursuline and Monroe on February 19 at Lakota East High School.
