PREVIEW: Boys’ bowling

The Mason boys’ bowling team looks to knock down GMC competition this year. The team is looking to improve on last year’s eighth-place finish, according to junior Ben Grismer.
“This year is all about improvement for us,” Grismer said. “The GMC is going to be a tough year this year and with a lot of young players on the team, we just want to improve on last year’s performance.”
In order for the team to improve, it must come together as a group, because it has no standout bowler this year, according to Grismer.
“In order for us to be successful, we must come together as a complete team,” said Grismer. “We do not have one player who is a complete stud so for us, so for us to improve, we must bowl as a team.”
The team does not have as high of expectations as usual with its young team, but it looks at this year as a building year towards the future, according to Grismer
“With the youth of our team, we are really looking to improve for the future,” said Grismer. “By improving this, we are hoping to become a major force to reckon with next year.”
While the team may be young, it still has senior leadership, according to Grismer.
“The leader of the team is senior Aaron Markvan,” Grismer said. “He is one of our top bowler and he is bowling with a smile.”
